I am ... very happy with your plans, the organization that you have put into it and I am extremely happy with the response I have gotten from you when I have encountered a problem.
It sure does save money. At the same time it allows me and others like me to experience making the cage for our animal (animals) that we care so much about. I think that when someone takes the time to sit down and make something like this for their animal it really shows how much they care for them and respect them.

With your plans you can also alter the cage to each and everyone's specifications, or needs. I think what you are doing is wonderful and I want to thank you again.

Enclosure Size to Gallon Conversions (to the nearest Gallon)

Often when you read articles about the ideal size tank or cage for your pet snake or lizard, the article will tell you to make you tank a certain size. eg for bearded dragons some people would recommend a tank about 60-70 gallons.

It is always difficult to know exactly how big that enclosure or cage should be. The table below was made in order to assist people when deciding on these measurements.

The table will help you convert the size of your reptile cage or tank to gallons for a range of dimensions.

The table should be read down eg Reptile Cage A measures 12" high x 12" deep and 24" long. It is a 15 gallon(US) enclosure.

Using this table and the question above about Bearded Dragons, you would put your bearded dragon in a cage about 18" high x 24" deep x 36" wide. You could even make it 48" wide (90 Gallon) for a full grown beardie.

A 20 gallon cage would have the dimensions of 12" high x 18" deep x 24" long.

If you have an arboreal cage, use the same measurements but change them around. For example, using this table, a typical arboreal cage of 72" high x 24" deep x 36" wide would be about 270 gallons(US).

 

Temperature Conversion Table

Different countries use different temperature scales. The table below is a guide to the different temperatures so you can easily convert them.

For example if a cage should be kept around 80°-85°F then this would be about 27°C to 30°C (approximately).
